Do I Need Travel Insurance for a UAE eVisa?

Overview

Travel insurance is optional on our application. You can add it as an add-on when you apply, for a fee per passenger. It is not mandatory to complete the eVisa application, but the UAE authorities may require or recommend proof of insurance in some cases. We offer a 30-day travel insurance option that meets common requirements for UAE travel. Adding it is your choice.

Optional Add-On During Application

When you fill in Step 2: Passenger Information on our Apply page, you may see an optional section to add Travel Insurance (e.g. “Travel Insurance - 30 days to UAE”). You can tick it for one or more passengers if you want coverage. The price is shown per passenger. The total (visa fees + insurance if selected) is clearly displayed before you pay.

Coverage and Cost

  • Duration – We offer 30-day travel insurance coverage, which is often the minimum duration referred to for UAE eVisa-related requirements.
  • Cost – The price is shown on the application page per passenger when you select the add-on. It is added to your total and paid together with the visa fees.
  • Details – Coverage details (what is included, limits, exclusions) are provided with the insurance product. Read them before you add the option.

Government and Insurance

  • The UAE may require or recommend proof of travel/health insurance for visitors in some situations. Having insurance can also help you with medical or travel issues during your stay.
  • We do not make insurance mandatory for submitting the eVisa application. If you choose not to add our insurance, you can still apply. You may need to show proof of insurance from another provider if the authorities or your airline ask for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is travel insurance mandatory for a UAE eVisa?
No. On our site, travel insurance is an optional add-on. You can complete the application without it. The UAE or your airline may still require or recommend insurance; in that case you can use our add-on or arrange it elsewhere.

How do I add travel insurance?
When you are on Step 2 (Passenger Information), look for the optional “Travel Insurance” section. You can select it for one or more passengers. The cost is shown per passenger and included in the total before payment.

Why do I not see the insurance option?
The option may only be shown when applicable (e.g. for passengers under 50 and when all required passenger details are filled). If you do not see it, you can still apply for the eVisa and arrange insurance separately if needed.

How long is the insurance valid?
We offer 30-day travel insurance coverage. This often matches the minimum duration referred to for UAE travel. Check the product details for exact start and end of coverage.

Can I buy insurance after I get my eVisa?
Yes. You can buy travel insurance from another provider before or after you receive your eVisa. We only offer it as an add-on during the application for convenience.

Does the UAE require insurance?
Requirements can vary. The UAE may require or recommend proof of insurance in certain cases. Having coverage (through our add-on or another provider) can help you meet such requirements and protect you during your trip.
