What Documents Do I Need for a UAE eVisa?

Overview

For a UAE eVisa application through our service, each passenger typically needs: a valid passport, a passport-style photo, proof of round-trip travel, and accommodation details in the UAE. The exact list is shown in your application and can vary slightly by nationality. All documents are uploaded online after you pay; there is no need to visit an embassy or send originals by post.

Documents Required for Each Passenger

Common requirements per passenger include:

  1. Passport copy – Clear copy of the bio page (and sometimes the cover), valid for at least 6 months from arrival in the UAE.
  2. Passport-style photo – Recent, clear, plain background, no glasses or hat (unless for religious reasons).
  3. Round-trip ticket – Proof of return or onward travel from the UAE.
  4. Accommodation – Hotel booking or host details in the UAE.

The application form and document upload step will show the exact list for your nationality and visa type. Some nationalities may need extra or slightly different documents; we will ask only for what is required.

Passport

  • Validity – Must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter the UAE.
  • Format – Upload a clear, full-page copy of the bio page (and cover if requested). Avoid glare and cropping.
  • Each traveler – Every passenger, including children and infants, must have their own passport and their own eVisa.

If a passport is expired or will expire soon, renew it before applying.

Passport-Style Photo

  • Recent – Taken within the last few months.
  • Clear – Face clearly visible, neutral expression.
  • Plain background – Light, uniform background (e.g. white or off-white).
  • No hat or glasses – Unless worn for religious or medical reasons; face must be fully visible.
  • Format – Usually JPEG or PNG; the upload step will state size and format.

Children must also have a suitable photo; it can be a simple, clear headshot.

Travel and Accommodation

  • Round-trip (or onward) ticket – Proof that you will leave the UAE (e.g. return flight or flight to another country). A booking confirmation or e-ticket is usually enough.
  • Accommodation – Hotel reservation, or name and address of your host if staying with family or friends. The UAE may require this for entry; we use it to complete your application correctly.

You upload these in the document step after payment. Keep the same travel dates and accommodation consistent with what you entered in the application form.

Uploading Your Documents

  • When – After you complete payment, you are taken to the document upload step.
  • Per passenger – Upload the required documents for each passenger. The system will show which passenger each upload is for.
  • File types – Usually PDF or image formats (e.g. JPEG, PNG). Accepted types and max file size are shown on the page.
  • Quality – Ensure documents are readable, not blurred or cut off.

If something is missing or unclear, we may contact you by email to request a new upload. Reply promptly to avoid delays.

Special Cases and Nationalities

  • Nationality-specific requirements – Some countries have additional or slightly different document requirements set by the UAE. The application will list them for your nationality.
  • Children – Same document types as adults: passport copy, photo, and (where applicable) travel and accommodation. Each child has their own set of uploads.
  • Multiple entries – If you apply for a multiple-entry visa, you may still need to show intended first trip (dates, ticket, accommodation).

If your nationality is not listed in our country selector, contact us via the Contact page and we can advise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I send originals by post?
No. You only upload copies (PDF or image) in the application. Do not send your passport or originals by post.

Can I use my phone to take the passport copy and photo?
Yes, as long as the image is clear, complete, and readable. Avoid shadows and glare.

My passport expires in 5 months. Can I apply?
The UAE requires at least 6 months validity from your arrival date. If you will arrive within 5 months and your passport then has less than 6 months left, renew the passport first.

Do children need the same documents?
Yes. Each child needs their own passport copy, photo, and (where required) proof of travel and accommodation. They are uploaded per passenger in the same way as for adults.

What if a document is rejected?
We or the system may ask you to re-upload a clearer or correct version. Check the email you used for the application and upload again as instructed.

Where do I see the exact list for my nationality?
When you start an application and reach the document upload step, the required list is shown per passenger. You can also check our Check Requirement page for your country for general guidance.
